Byteact Signup Form Bug

To anyone who has tried to signup for Byteact FREE web hosting, we apologize if you were met with an error message of ‘Security code doesn’t match’ or a similar message.

It would seem that somewhere between the switch between the old system and the new system we somehow left out a kind of important element of our signup form, the method attribute of the form tag.

This has now been corrected and we feel really, really, really stupid for letting this kind of an error somehow slip past our implementation of the system after such thorough testing.

Did I mention we felt REALLY stupid? I did? Okay just making sure.

We have recently upgraded all security measures in regards to user hosting accounts to protect the integrity of your web hosting accounts.

In relation to these changes, we have also updated our support procedures which now, in some support cases, we will ask you to verify your password in order to proceed to the next steps of support.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause in receiving support but we hope you understand that this change is intended as a precautionary security measure to protect access to your hosting account and private details.

FTP Issues

Our FTP servers were under a Denial of Service attack earlier today starting around 10:37am which caused extremely slow loading and time outs in both direct FTP access and File Manager access via control panel.

We have since mitigated this attack and put into place a few measures to prevent recurrence of this attack though this particular attack was rather distinct.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and continue working hard to make such attacks ineffective on our network and services.
