We apologize to anyone trying to access the iByte forums or the iByte blog in the past few days, it seems we forgot to renew the domain we use for these aspects of the iByte network.

However in the downtime we had one of our members step up to help us out by hosting the forums on his space interim while we worked to fix the problem. So we’d like to thank Matthew Currie for lending us a helping hand and for offering to host the community permanently as we found that the iByte forums we had implemented previously just did not emphasize community as much as our temporary setup on his forums did.

So, now that the domain is backup and running and we now have a more fitting home for the iByte community forums, we’d like to invite everyone to join the community at Digital Gate Network!

Our hosting service has undergone an overhaul in terms of image, design, branding and yes, even the free hosting plan has gone through some changes.

A quick summary of the changes are…

• New name, same short n’ easy domain
• Entirely new website design
• New support options as part of our iByte partnership
• Premium plans are now routed through Byteact Hosting so we can focus on our free service

Unfortunately due to abuse and to restructuring, the free hosting plan offered by i.create Hosting had to be modified to increase the user capacity and to prevent further abuse of our free hosting service. In the future we may expand the free hosting plan to its former glory but in the meantime, we are looking out for the inboxes of users everywhere online by temporarily disabling sendmail access until further notice.

However, that was the only downer in an otherwise great update
